Bangladesh, Sept. 18 -- The central bank has asked the lending banks concerned to finalise a rescue package for the troubled Citygroup forthwith to avoid their loans getting classified.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has advised the bankers to expedite the resolution of stressed-loan accounts linked to the conglomerate as the regulator will not extend loan-classification-deferment facility after this month.

Under the resolutions, top executives of the banks have been directed to complete restructuring, rescheduling or other resolution measures within the remaining timeframe to avoid classification burden.
