Bangladesh, Oct. 8 -- The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has increased the amount of US dollar notes and coins that licensed money changers can sell to Bangladeshi nationals travelling abroad against their annual private travel entitlement.

Under the revised arrangement, licensed money changers can sell up to US$3,000 in dollar notes and coins at a time, up from the previous limit of $2,000, according to a circular issued by the central bank on Thursday.

The BB said the decision was taken to facilitate the foreign exchange requirements of Bangladeshi nationals travelling abroad.
