Dhaka, March 10 -- Bahraini authorities have arrested six expatriates, including a Bangladeshi national, for allegedly sharing pro-Iranian posts and videos on social media amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The Bangladeshi man has been identified as Mohammad Israfil Mir.
The other five individuals taken into custody are Pakistani citizens.
The arrests were reported on Monday by the state-run Bahrain News Agency and local media outlets, citing the interior ministry.
The operation was carried out following an investigation by the country's General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, bdnews24.com reports.
