Bangladesh, Sept. 11 -- Bangladesh has planned to send a trade delegation to Sri Lanka to assess the potential for exporting potatoes to the island nation, while the possibility of exporting onions will also be explored.

Advertisement The initiative is aimed at finding new overseas markets for Bangladeshi agricultural products and boosting bilateral trade between the two countries.

The issue was discussed at a bilateral meeting between Bangladesh's Commerce, Industry, and Textiles and Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir and Sri Lanka's Minister of Trade, Commercial Activities, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe on Thursday.
