Bangladesh, Sept. 23 -- Bangladesh opts to measure economic growth and national wealth creation on UN scales to help policymakers make precise policy on accurate data, removing scepticism about traditional official statistics.

Advertisement Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) is planning to measure net domestic product (NDP) as recommended by the United Nations' agency concerned, according to BBS officials.

They say this pivot seeks to provide policymakers with a more comprehensive picture of economic growth and wealth creation.

The new measure is expected to be derived from the revised national accounts, which will be prepared with 2025-26 as the new base year.
