Bangladesh, Oct. 16 -- Bangladesh and China have emphasised strengthening economic ties taking bilateral relations to a new level.

Foreign Affairs State Minister Shama Obaed Islam and Chinese Embassy Charge d'Affaires Dr Liu Yuyin stressed the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations at a celebration marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, organised by the Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI), said The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, Shama Obaed said China's achievements in economic and social development over the past 77 years offered valuable lessons for developing countries.
