Dhaka, June 16 -- A Chattogram court will deliver the verdict in a case over the rape of a 3.5-year-old child near Chairman Ghata of Bakalia Thana on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the judge at the Chattogram Metropolitan Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal set the date for the verdict announcement after hearing the closing arguments.

Judge Syeda Hafsa Jhuma will deliver the verdict on Wednesday, said the tribunal's public prosecutor (PP), Mahmud-ul Alam Chowdhury Maruf.

"The court heard the closing arguments today and will deliver its verdict tomorrow," he told bdnews24.com.

The case reached its final stage after the completion of testimony recording, defence statements, and closing arguments in five working days.
