Dhaka, May 5 -- The Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) has elected two new Vice Chairmen to its Executive Committee.

The newly elected Vice Chairmen are Mr. Rashed Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of Mutual Trust Bank PLC, and Mr. Sharif Zahir, Chairman of United Commercial Bank PLC, according to a press release.

The decision was taken unanimously at the 230th Executive Committee meeting of BAB held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

The newly elected Vice Chairmen will serve for the remaining term of the current tenure, ending on December 31, 2026.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman of BAB and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dhaka Bank PLC.
