Dhaka, May 6 -- The investigation committee formed over the assault on leaders of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and members of the Dhaka University Journalists' Association inside Shahbagh Police Station has failed to submit its report even after 13 days, despite an initial three-day deadline.

The incident took place on April 23 in the evening, when tensions reportedly escalated between activists of Islami Chhatrashibir and Jatiotabadi Chatradal over a controversial photocard circulated in the name of a DU student. Journalists attempting to cover the situation were obstructed and later assaulted when they protested.
