Appellate Division stays HC verdict on separate Supreme Court secretariat
Dhaka, June 10 -- The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed a High Court verdict that directed the establishment of an independent secretariat for the Supreme Court within three months.
The Appellate Division also fixed June 16 for the next hearing on the matter.
A four-member full and regular bench of the Appellate Division headed by the Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury passed the order following a hearing on the issue on Tuesday.
At the hearing, Attorney General Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal argued the state's appeal petition.
Additional Attorneys General Md Abdul Jabbar Bhuiyan, Md Arshadur Rouf and Aneek R Haque also appeared for the state.
