Dhaka, April 22 -- The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham Bangladesh) on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the death of its former president Dr Forrest E. Cookson, who passed away last night while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in Dhaka, according to a press release.

Born on April 26, 1934, in the United States, Dr Cookson first came to Bangladesh in the mid-1980s to contribute to a financial sector reform initiative. He worked as a consultant to Bangladesh Bank and played a significant role in the financial sector reform programme during the 1990s.
