Agro-exports fall short of $1.0b again
Bangladesh, Sept. 8 -- Bangladesh's agro-export earnings fell short of the US$1.0-billion mark for the fourth consecutive year in FY2025-26, despite repeated government initiatives to expand and modernise the sector.

The country earned $975.39 million from agricultural exports during the fiscal year, down 1.34 per cent from $988.62 million a year earlier, according to the latest data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
The earnings crossed the $1.0-billion threshold in FY2020-21 and FY2021-22, registering $1.03 billion and $1.14 billion, respectively. But it fell sharply to $827.10 million in FY2022-23 and have failed to return to the billion-dollar mark since.
