Bangladesh, Sept. 23 -- Achieving affordable internet in Bangladesh will remain difficult without greater private-sector investment in international connectivity infrastructure, experts said at a seminar on Tuesday.

Advertisement Calling for an end to the dominance of Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC) in international bandwidth supply, they said that introducing competition among submarine cable operators is essential to reduce bandwidth costs, enhance network resilience and create a favourable ecosystem for global technology giants to invest in the country.



They also urged the authorities to ensure open and non-discriminatory access to submarine cable landing stations and establish a predictable regulatory framework.
