Dhaka, March 18 -- At least five Dhaka-bound flights, including two on international routes, had to be diverted to Chattogram's Shah Amanat International Airport due to the adverse weather conditions on Wednesday evening.

In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said the affected flights include three operated by US-Bangla Airlines-on Cox's Bazar-Dhaka, Singapore-Dhaka and Male (Maldives)-Dhaka routes, UNB reports.

One Novoair flight on the Saidpur-Dhaka route was also diverted.

Meanwhile, an Air Astra flight operating on the Chattogram-Dhaka route was forced to return to Chattogram.

The flights are expected to resume their journeys to Dhaka once weather conditions improve.
