Dhaka, May 19 -- Three more children with symptoms consistent with measles have died in the Sylhet Division over the last 24-hour period.

They died while undergoing treatment at two separate hospitals, according to Sylhet Health Division Assistant Director Mohammad Noor Alam Shameem, bdnews24.com reports.

The death toll among children in the division has hit 40 this year.

Ishita Kaher, a six-month-old who hailed from Moulvibazar's Sreemangal Upazila, died at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College.

Susmita, a nine-month-old who hailed from the Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila, and Labiba, a nine-month-old who resided in Sylhet city, passed away at Sylhet Sahid Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital.
