Bangladesh, Sept. 1 -- Local government institutions in Bangladesh are significantly underprepared for e-governance, scoring an overall preparedness index of just 38.9 out of 100, according to a study.

Advertisement The deficit is primarily driven by extremely weak digital infrastructure, which scored a mere 24.1, lagging far behind operational and citizen-facing service capacities.

The keynote paper on the study was presented at a dialogue titled 'E-governance at the Local Government Institutions: Current State and Way Forward,' organised by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) at a city hotel on Monday.
