New Delhi, Oct. 19 -- Keeping one phone number while alternating between two iPhones is becoming a carrier-priced convenience, not simply a setting to switch on. The choice now involves different advertised monthly charges, as well as a distinction between a service already offered and one still described as coming soon.

Verizon says iPhone Handoff will cost $10 a month on compatible iPhones running iOS 27 in its October 16 announcement. The carrier included the feature in its iPhone Duo coverage, but labelled Handoff as coming soon. The announcement does not establish a specific Handoff activation date.

T-Mobile advertises the feature at $5 a month, plus taxes and fees, on its service page. Its page says availability began September 14...
