New Delhi, July 15 -- LOS ANGELES - The Shards, Ryan Murphy's FX drama built from Bret Easton Ellis's semi-autobiographical 2023 novel, released its first full trailer on Tuesday and confirmed an August 5 premiere date. Two episodes will drop simultaneously on FX and Hulu at 9 p.m. Eastern. International viewers will find it on Disney+. What the trailer makes plain is that Murphy is treating Ellis's source material not as a period thriller but as a memory play in which the killer and the narrator are reflections of each other.
