New Delhi, Aug. 16 -- Raymond Wong has reviewed dozens of smartphones over the years, but the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 did something none of them managed: it changed how often he actually opened the device. "The Z Fold 8 is the only one that I have unfolded more times than I have not," Wong wrote in Gizmodo's review, which awarded it an Editor's Choice for 2026 and a score of 4.5 out of 5. Two weeks of daily use, and the 7.6-inch inner display had become the default, not the exception.

why unfold? The extra screen is an inconvenience, the crease is a distraction, and the price is a commitment most people are unwilling to make. The Z Fold 8, at $1,900, does not solve the price question. It solves the other one.
