New Delhi, Aug. 11 -- The six-run margin that separated India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup group-stage match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 9, 2024 was, in one sense, the narrowest India had ever won by against their neighbours in an ICC tournament. In another sense, it was entirely consistent with everything that has defined this fixture across the past decade: India winning, Pakistan almost but not quite, the margin irrelevant to the scoreline that eventually goes into the record books.

India have not lost to Pakistan in a knockout or group-stage ICC fixture across any format in that span.
