NCAA Appeals Sorsby Ruling as College Football Erupts Over Gambling Integrity Crisis
The appeal, June 9 -- LUBBOCK, Texas - The NCAA filed an accelerated appeal Monday night to the Court of Appeals for the Seventh District of Texas, targeting a ruling that had restored the eligibility of Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby - a man who by his own admission wagered approximately $90,000 on sports over four years, including 40 bets placed on his own Indiana team while he was a freshman on the Hoosiers' roster in 2022.
June 22, the deadline by which Sorsby must decide whether to enter the NFL's supplemental draft. The entire legal architecture now bends around that date.
