New Delhi, July 20 -- BETHESDA - JD Vance announced the arrival of the couple's fourth child on Sunday morning in a statement that was brief even by the standards of official birth notices, and what it could not quite contain was the number it implied.

Alec Neel Vance was born at Walter Reed Medical Center, the military hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. "We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning," the vice president wrote, according to Fox News. "Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother." The statement added that military doctors and staff at Walter Reed and the White House Medical Unit had been "a blessing."
