SHANGHAI, June 13 -- Chinese biotechnology firms signed 53 outbound innovative-drug licensing deals in the first quarter of 2026, an unprecedented quarterly volume that delivered 3.3 billion United States dollars of upfront cash, more than 60 billion dollars of headline deal value and a Chinese-origin share of global pharmaceutical business-development activity that has now passed 50 percent for the first time in the modern era of the industry.
