METAIRIE, July 30 -- The injury happened before Kellen Moore's first training camp as a head coach had produced a single meaningful play. Bryan Bresee went down in a non-contact moment during the Saints' opening practice Wednesday, and Moore stood at the post-practice podium carrying the weight of what he already knew.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Bresee is feared to have torn his anterior cruciate ligament during the session, a finding that, when confirmed by imaging, would end his 2026 season at the same moment it began. The Saints' best defensive player spent the rest of the afternoon watching his teammates practice from the sideline in street clothes.
