Tanzania has made a historic breakthrough on the global golf stage after Johnson John, Operations Manager of the Tanzania Golf Union, has been selected among 11 elite scholars for the 2026 The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews Scholarship marking the first time in history that Tanzania is represented in the program.

The scholarship, delivered by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, is a globally recognised leadership development program that identifies and nurtures emerging leaders across key areas of golf, including coaching, agronomy, data analytics, equipment engineering, club management, and sustainability.
