Tanzania, March 25 -- Dodoma. The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, has announced the death of former Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities) and Member of Parliament for Isimani Constituency, William Vangimembe Lukuvi.

Lukuvi died on March 25, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital in Dodoma, where he had been admitted for treatment after suffering a heart attack.

In the official statement, President Samia Suluhu Hassan expressed her condolences to the Speaker of Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania, the bereaved family, residents of Isimani Constituency, relatives, friends, and all Tanzanians.
