Tanzania's Amsons Group linked to $250 million Oryx acquisition talks
Tanzania, May 25 -- Dar es Salaam. Tanzania-based Amsons Group is reportedly in advanced negotiations to acquire Oryx Energies in a deal estimated at $250 million, The Citizen has been reliably informed.
Officials from the company's Tanzania operations declined to comment on Monday, May 25, 2026.
However, sources privy to the talks say negotiations are at an advanced stage and are being handled at the company's headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
"The negotiations are almost complete and involve Oryx's fuels and lubricants business as well as its shares in Tanzania International Petroleum Reserves Limited (TIPER)," said the source, requesting anonymity pending an official announcement.
