Tanzania opens talks with Cannes film festival leadership to boost film industry participation
Tanzania, May 20 -- Cannes, France. Tanzania has begun discussions with the leadership of the Cannes Film Festival aimed at strengthening the country's participation in the global film industry and exploring potential areas of cooperation for local film stakeholders.
The Ambassador of Tanzania to France, Mr Saidi Yakubu, held the talks on May 21, 2026 with officials of the Cannes Film Festival, including Mr Francois Desrousseaux, a senior official responsible for international relations and strategic partnerships, as well as Mr Guillaume Esmiol, Executive Director of the Marche du Film (Cannes Film Market).
