Tanzania dismisses claims of suspension of Sh468 billion EU cooperation programme
Tanzania, June 20 -- Dar es Salaam. The Government of Tanzania has dismissed reports suggesting that the European Union has suspended funding under its 2026 cooperation programme with the country, saying a recent vote by the European Parliament does not constitute a final decision on the matter.
In a statement issued on June 19, 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation said the government had been following the debate and vote held in the European Parliament on June 18 regarding the 2026 Partnership Programme between Tanzania and the European Union, valued at €156 million.
