Tanzania, March 19 -- Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has set in motion a sweeping overhaul of Tanzania's taxation system, signalling a decisive shift towards restoring business confidence, improving compliance and ensuring fairness across the economy.

The move follows years of persistent complaints from traders, investors and members of the diplomatic community over bureaucracy, inconsistent enforcement and alleged malpractice within the tax administration framework.
