Rwanda suspends imports of 14 Tanzanian alcohol brands in crackdown on unsafe drinks
Tanzania, Aug. 6 -- Kigali. Rwanda has suspended the importation of 14 alcoholic beverage brands from Tanzania as part of a wider regulatory action targeting products that fail to meet required safety and quality standards.
The Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority (Rwanda FDA) announced the suspension of 52 alcoholic beverage brands imported from several countries, including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, India and Poland.
Importers, distributors and retailers have been ordered to stop selling the affected products and remove existing stocks from the market pending further assessments.
Among the Tanzanian brands affected are Konyagi, Strong Dry Gin, Diamond Rock Gin, Tzee Lemon and Ginger, Kiwingu Spirit, K-Vant, Blackhat, Campfire Gin, ...
