Tanzania, Aug. 17 -- Dar es Salaam. Competition in Tanzania's petroleum market intensified in the 2024/25 financial year, with some established players losing significant market share while others climbed the ladder, according to the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (Ewura).

The Ewura Petroleum Sub-Sector Performance Report for 2024/25 shows that the five largest oil marketing companies (OMCs) controlled 48.7 percent of the petroleum market, leaving 51.3 percent to other players.
