Middle East conflict could worsen Tanzania's fuel and food prices
Tanzania, June 11 -- Dar es Salaam. The government has cautioned that the escalating conflict in the Middle East could lead to higher fuel and fertiliser prices in Tanzania, warning that global economic disruptions are already beginning to affect the country.
Speaking in Parliament on Thursday while presenting the State of the Economy Report for 2025, Minister of State in the President's Office (Planning and Investment), Prof Kitila Mkumbo, said ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Iran continue to create uncertainty in international commodity markets, increase transport costs and disrupt supply chains.
