Football stakeholders push for insurance cover for players
Tanzania, Aug. 12 -- Dar es Salaam. Football stakeholders have called for closer cooperation between clubs, insurance companies and hospitals to ensure players have adequate health insurance coverage as required by sports laws and regulations.
They have also urged football authorities and clubs to provide players with greater education on health, contracts and their rights, saying many athletes only realise the importance of insurance after suffering serious injuries.
