US seizes over 300 drones near FIFA World Cup venues
Bangladesh, June 24 -- US authorities have seized over 300 drones that were flown illegally near FIFA World Cup stadiums and fan zones since the tournament began, according to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
The enforcement effort involved the TSA, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Homeland Security, and local law enforcement agencies.
Federal officials have imposed temporary flight restrictions around World Cup venues, banning unauthorized drone operations near stadiums and other event locations. Authorities warned that violations could result in hefty fines, criminal penalties, and the confiscation of equipment.
