Bangladesh, June 18 -- Bangladesh and Azerbaijan have agreed to open resident diplomatic missions in each other's capitals as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

The decision came during a telephone conversation between Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on the afternoon of June 18, said the Foreign Ministry in a press release.

During the discussion, Bayramov warmly congratulated Dr. Rahman on his election as President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), describing it as a significant achievement for Bangladesh on the global stage.
