Bangladesh, Oct. 6 -- Swissport International is entering Indonesia's aviation services market through a new joint venture with Jakarta-based UNEX Aviation Services, expanding the global ground handler's footprint in Southeast Asia.

The companies have signed binding agreements under which Swissport will acquire a stake in UNEX, which has more than two decades of operations and provides cargo warehousing and related services at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

The partnership initially builds on UNEX's cargo operations but is expected to broaden into passenger and ramp handling. The companies also plan to extend their services to other Indonesian airports.
