JoBike to launch bike-sharing service at Dhaka Metro Stations
Bangladesh, Aug. 10 -- App-based bicycle-sharing platform JoBike is set to launch a new service at Dhaka Metro Rail stations, aiming to make first- and last-mile travel easier for passengers.
JoBike signed an agreement with Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) on August 6 after securing the project through an open tender. The service will initially be introduced as a six-month pilot at Uttara North, Uttara Center and Uttara South stations.
Under the pilot, JoBike will deploy between 150 and 300 pedal bicycles, with additional parking hubs to be added based on passenger demand. If the pilot proves successful, the service could be expanded to other stations along MRT Line-6.
