Bangladesh, Oct. 18 -- Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has introduced two payment verification numbers in its online e-challan system to strengthen cargo clearance security, improve services and prevent fraud.

The new feature has been implemented under the port's Terminal Operating System (TOS), according to a statement issued on October 13 by Syed Refayet Hamim, secretary (additional charge) of the port authority.

The system now includes the "R Number" and "CP Number" from the bill of entry. The R Number allows officials to verify customs duty and tax payments, while the CP Number helps confirm payments of port fees and charges.
