Air India boosts Delhi-Melbourne service to 10 weekly
Bangladesh, Aug. 15 -- Air India will increase flights between Delhi and Melbourne to 10 per week from October 25, marking its highest-ever frequency on the route.
The expanded winter schedule will combine daily Boeing 777-300ER services with three weekly Boeing 787-8 flights. The larger 777-300ER will add significant capacity, with 328 seats compared with up to 259 on the 787-8.
Air India introduced the 777-300ER on the route in July as part of efforts to strengthen its long-haul network. The airline had temporarily reduced services to four weekly flights amid higher fuel costs and airspace restrictions but plans to restore daily operations from September 1.
