India, April 29 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday welcomed Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Srinagar and described him as a true friend and well-wisher of Jammu and Kashmir during a programme held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC).

The event marked the handing over of sanction letters for projects approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-IV (Batch-II) for Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, Omar said, "I wholeheartedly welcome Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Srinagar and express my gratitude. You have repeatedly demonstrated that you are a true friend and well-wisher of the people of J&K."
