India, July 7 -- Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is celebrating his 45th birthday today, with fans, cricketers, sports personalities and franchises from across the country flooding social media with heartfelt wishes for one of Indian cricket's greatest icons.

Widely known as "Captain Cool", Dhoni is regarded as India's most successful captain. Under his leadership, India won the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, making him the only captain in cricket history to win all three major ICC white-ball trophies.
