Intruder killed as Army foils infiltration bid in Poonch
India, May 13 -- An infiltration attempt was foiled along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Tuesday, with one intruder killed in the operation, the Army said.
According to the Army's White Knight Corps, troops detected suspicious movement nearly 300 metres inside Indian territory in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch at around 4 pm during routine surveillance operations.
The Army said alert soldiers responded swiftly, preventing any breach along the LoC. During the operation, one infiltrator was neutralised.
"Persistent surveillance led to the detection of suspicious movement, following which troops acted promptly and foiled the infiltration attempt," the Army said in a statement.
