India, July 13 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a legal notice to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, asking him to either substantiate his allegations that the party was attempting to poach National Conference (NC) legislators or publicly apologise within seven days.

"The BJP Jammu and Kashmir has sent a legal notice to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah through post/mail, demanding that he either provide concrete evidence to substantiate his allegations of 'poaching' against the BJP or issue a public apology within seven days," a BJP spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.
