Srilanka, June 28 -- Former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director, Major General (Retd.) Suresh Sallay was transferred to the Cardiology Unit of the Colombo National Hospital for some medical tests yesterday, a source said.

The tests are related to a pre-existing health condition. He was receiving specialist medical supervision, the source said.

Sallay was admitted to the Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) of the Colombo National Hospital on June 7, 2026, after his health deteriorated following a hunger strike launched while being detained by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over the Easter Sunday carnage.
