SriLanka, June 14 -- Information on the Easter Sunday attacks that had been suppressed by those who were previously in power is now coming to light via renewed investigations, Archbishop of Colombo Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said.

He was speaking during the Vespers service of the annual feast at St. Anthony's shrine, Kochchikade on Friday night, where he also outlined the ongoing search for justice for victims of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

The Archbishop said the change of Government in September 2024 created a new opportunity to pursue the truth behind the attacks. The Catholic church had immediately reminded the new President and Government of the importance of conducting an honest and independent investigation.
