Srilanka, Aug. 9 -- Police have launched an investigation into death threats allegedly received by Committee for Protecting Rights of Prisoners Chairman, Attorney-at-Law Senaka Perera, and its Convener, Sudesh Nandimal. Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F. U. Wootler said a fair investigation would be conducted and action taken to arrest those responsible as soon as possible. The two activists allegedly received the threats through letters sent by post, warning them to stop intervening in matters involving prisoners and Security Forces.
