Non-dengue patients at IDH to be transferred
Srilanka, July 12 -- Non-dengue patients receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) will be transferred to the Mulleriyawa Hospital, National Dengue Control Unit sources said.
The decision has been taken to allow medical staff at the IDH to focus greater attention and provide more dedicated care to dengue patients amid the rising number of cases. Medical professionals said that controlling the spread of dengue depends primarily on eliminating mosquito breeding sites and urged the public to take measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
The number of dengue cases reported so far this year has increased to 66,064, with 46 dengue-related deaths recorded, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.
