SriLanka, March 15 -- The advanced draft of Sri Lanka's proposed National Media Policy was presented to Health and Mass Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa and Deputy Mass Media Minister Kaushalya Ariyaratne at the Ministry auditorium yesterday.
The draft policy is the outcome of an extensive consultation conducted from May 2023 to December 2025. It was prepared by an independent multi-stakeholder committee appointed by the Ministry of Mass Media, drawing on contributions from hundreds of stakeholders across the media sector and civil society.
Dr. Jayatissa said Sri Lanka needed policy frameworks in many sectors and noted that several ministries were currently engaged in developing such policies.
