Srilanka, April 19 -- Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation, Lal Kantha through his lawyer has sent a Letter of Demand (LoD) for Rs.10 billion to the Asia Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) (Pvt.) Limited claiming that a television channel owned by them has telecast a misleading and baseless news story regarding the total value of Assets and Liabilities declared by him for year 2025.

The news story that was telecast on that television channel and its digital platforms on or around April 16 has said that the total value of the assets and liabilities declared by the minister exceeds Rs. 460 million, which the Minister's lawyer Buddhika Wijesooriya says is baseless and misleading.
